Servlet spec

Which servlet specification has velocity 1.4 been written to?
 
have just been having some trouble compiling the src of 1.4 and also
running it with tomcat 5.0 and was wonderng if anyone has had the same
problem ...

Why not just use the jars supplied by the binary distribution?  Works
with me...
