Move wicket-dashboard to wicketstuff

Hi

I have a personal project on github, wicket-dashboard[1], and after a short
discussion [2] with Maxim Solodovnik (aka solomax) I come here to put a
question if is it useful for community to move/donate wicket-dashboard to
wicketstuff?
The same question is for other personal projects: wicket-pivot,
wicket-plugin.

Best regards,
Decebal

Re: Move wicket-dashboard to wicketstuff

Posted by Martin Grigorov <mg...@apache.org>.
WicketStuff follows the rules of Wicket.
7.x uses Servlet 3.0.1. That's why we use Jetty 8.x.
Jetty 9.x requires Servlet 3.1.

I prefer to stick with the current setup and downgrade
WicketStuff-Dashboard's version of servlet-api and jetty.

Hello Martin,

Wicketstuff 7.2.0-SNAPSHOT uses jetty-server 8.1.16, can I bump the version
to be 9.2+ (the latest is 9.3.6.v20151106)

moved to wicketstuff.

Re: Move wicket-dashboard to wicketstuff

done, sorry for delay
I moved 3 versions 1.5, 6.x, 7.x
every version was moved with single commit (history was dropped, sorry,
wasn't sure how else can I merge 2 tree with different structure)

will appreciate help in
1) test everything is OK
2) guide me to move wiki page and make visible on
https://github.com/wicketstuff/core/tree/master/dashboard-parent page
3) point me to any inconsistencies

Thanks!

Hi Martin,

Thank you for the info; this is actually my config that used to work... :/

Will try to investigate...

Re: Move wicket-dashboard to wicketstuff

Hi Sebastien,

I've added snippets like
https://github.com/wicketstuff/core/commit/5574dd29a4a2a262006c4bed29cd2bb17e10d6f1
in all -examples modules.
These properties are used by their respective Maven plugins, e.g.
https://github.com/wicketstuff/core/blob/5574dd29a4a2a262006c4bed29cd2bb17e10d6f1/pom.xml#L126,
and the -examples.war files are not in Maven Central since 7.0.0.

Hi Martin,

Sorry to mix-up threads, but how did you do that?
The 'skip' option of the maven-deploy-plugin is not working for me anymore,
since a while now. :(

Thanks in advance,
Sebastien.

We stopped deploying the -examples modules and this reduced the time to
~1h, so it is bearable again!

Hi Maxim,

I can assist you. I don't have the time to perform this relocation and I
don't know to much about the structure of wicketstuff.
You are already a committer on wicket-dashboard so you have the both worlds
:)
I see a probable issue with this sentence " And the release process takes
~6 hours here now!". Now I releasing by request :)

HI,

I'm +1 to move it/them!
Especially if you add a good Wiki page about it with description of the
projects and probably some screenshots.

The problem that arises with WicketStuff is that it becomes bigger and
bigger and most of the projects don't have any change between two releases
but since they are part of the Maven modules they are released anyway. And
the release process takes ~6 hours here now!
But I have no better solution at the moment.

2 it will release more regulary :)
