David Nalley commented on INFRA-4638:
-------------------------------------

Does asfgit-svn-authors not already do this? Or am I missing something else?

> As a part of migrating the git-svn mirrors to the git-wip-us environment we should come up with a cleaner way of generating the authors.txt file [1] based on public information in our LDAP directory.
> The file consists of "username = Public Name <us...@apache.org>" lines, one for each Apache committer, and is currently being generated with the update-authors.pl script in [2]. In addition to the committer entries, the script also includes extra "username = username <de...@apache.org>" entries for extra account names typically found in version histories of codebases imported to Apache svn. The current set of known extra account names is maintained in [3].
