With the 1.20 release in August 2024, 1.18 reached its EOL. The usual process was to do a final flush out release if requested.

A [ML discussion|https://lists.apache.org/thread/5onl01vt98452vyj4x6flvdq8601fdo7] was initiated about switching off the 1.18 CI runs to save resources.
