[jira] Created: (OFBIZ-1003) Locale selection should show localized language string

Locale selection should show localized language string
------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: OFBIZ-1003
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-1003
Project: OFBiz (The Open for Business Project)
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: SVN trunk
            Reporter: Arno Peters

The language selection dropdown in OfBiz is showing languages in the currently selected language.

If I accidentally select Chinese as the interface language, I would have an "interesting" time finding my way back to a language I am actually able to understand because all the language names would be in Chinese!

Adrian,

thanks for the patch: rev. 540843
I'm leaving this issue open because a similar patch should be applied to the ecommerce/includes/language.ftl file

To repeat:

Go to catalog: https://localhost:8443/catalog/
Select Chinese from dropdown menu in top right corner
Click Set

Now, try to find English in the same dropdown menu (good luck, everything is in Chinese)

Excellent! The updated patch (confusingly the first in the list of attachments) works correctly for the OfBiz backend applications.

Please note that a similar patch is also needed for the ecommerce application.

This is not the case with a recent SVN version of the back office apps. If you look at the page source, each list element is presented in its own language. Perhaps you are referring to an older version of OFBiz or eCommerce.

Arno,

Thank you for the patch, but it doesn't appear to be a valid patch file. Also, the framework/common/webcommon/includes/header.ftl file has already been fixed, so you only need to include a patch for the eCommerce component.
