Jira troubles

Hi,

People have been asking about the recent unstability of the ASF Jira.
It seems like the culprit is some external client that keeps
requesting huge query results. The infrastructure team is upgrading
Jira in a short while and will then be able to explicitly limit the
size of query results, which should restore things back to normal.

Bertrand,

thanks for the pointers. At least now I understand what's going on :-).

Best regards, Julian

Yes, there's an issue between Firefox 3.0 alpha and Jira, see
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-1285

Recent Firefox builds send a Content-Type header with each
multipart/form-data part, this might break a few webapps out there.

I just noticed that others have been successfully creating new issues,
so I investigated further.

It seems that *my* issue was caused by the fact that I'm running Firefox
3.0 alpha on my development machine. Once I used the latest FF 2.*, all
was fine.

There's a number of problems being reported on various forums. They
are all caused by Jira running out of memory and starting to act
strangely. The latest news on infrastructure@ is that the Jira
installation should get upgraded tomorrow, after which things will
hopefully return to normal.

Hm,

still can't create new issues. Is this:

--
Create Issue
Step 2 of 2: Enter the details of the issue...
Errors

     * Error instantiating webwork.multipart.parser.class:
com.atlassian.jira.web.JiraMultipartRequestWrapper(original message: null)

You have not selected a valid project to create an issue in.

the same problem others are seeing?

Could be, especially now that myriads of people are getting introduced
to Mylar/Mylyn thanks to Eclipse Europa...

Maybe <http://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn_Jira_Connector>?
