    Resolution: Won't Fix

Installer currently works with tar files. This is how we are distributing convenience binaries. If downstream distro providers want to package for RPM or other package manager formats, that's great. 

Alternately, we can work to integrate with BigTop, in which case new JIRAs should be created for that work.
