Xerces Compatibility

There was a question on the Xerces list some time ago about whether Xalan
1.3 was compatible with Xerces 1.7 and there was no response to it so I
thought I would repost here.

Have people had success using Xerces 1.7 with Xalan 1.3? We are currently on
Xalan 1.2 and Xerces 1.5.1 and have been contemplating an upgrade for some
time and hence the question.
