Problem with org.apache.xalan.serialize.SerializerToXML

I ran SimpleTransform example. It bombs on Class.forName
("org.apache.xalan.serialize.SerializerToXML") saying that NoClassDefFound.

It appears as if there is a problem with 
org.apache.xalan.serialize.SerializerToXML class.

PS. There is a previously reported bug #7463 with very similar simptomps
