1.6.2 tomorrow

I'm planning on rolling 1.6.2 tomorrow, late afternoon CDT. A couple
of items of interest:
  * Daniel reported a segfault in 1.6.1 which I don't know has been
addressed
  * STATUS could use more review and votes
  * Paul still has a few merge-related fixes he'd like to nominate

I'm not currently inclined to hold the release for the above issues,
unless people can present a case to do so. (But I'm a pretty easy
push-over, so don't sweat it too much. :) )

Agreed that 1.6 shouldn't segfault on 1.7 wc's. But:

* format-11 won't be in 1.7, and (AFAIK) the bug hasn't been reported
against format-12 wc's, so we don't know if there IS a bug to be fixed.

* we can fix it in 1.6.3

Sure, but we're going to release 1.7 at some point. If the 1.6 code
doesn't like newer formats, then we should know that *now*. Try and
get a fix into 1.6 so that it will gracefully bail out.

(thanks! *I* forgot about it)

Which? If it's the "'svn1.6.1 up format-11-wc' blows up" that I reported
(twice) on IRC, I don't know whether it's possible to reproduce it without
involving format>10 (i.e., dev format) wc's.

Clarification: It's more that I'd like to encourage review of what is
*already* nominated re merge fixes. Particularly r36527, r36509, and
r37491, all of which improve merge performance when dealing with lots
of subtrees with mergeinfo. On our own repository this is not a very
significant problem, but there are users out there with hundreds and
in some cases thousands of subtrees with mergeinfo, and performance
has been a big problem for them.
