[VOTE] Airflow Providers, release preparation date 2025-12-09

Hey all,

I have just cut the new wave Airflow Providers packages with release
preparation date 2025-12-09. This email is calling a vote on the release,
which will last for 72 hours - which means that it will end on Friday, 12th
of December, 23.30 CEST and until 3 binding +1 votes have been received.

Consider this my (binding) +1.

The big number of providers in this release are because of moving Airflow
Exceptions to common.compat and since most providers use exceptions, all of
those are affected

Note - the issue with proxying our staging documentation is still not
solved. When you see "Not Found", in the URL following changelog or docs
link replace:

https://airflow.staged.apache.org/

with:

https://d3a2du7x0n8ydr.cloudfront.net/

Airflow Providers are available at:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/airflow/providers/2025-12-09

*apache-airflow-providers-2025-12-09-source.tar.gz* is the full source
tarball of airflow repo - snapshot taken at the moment of provider's
release.

*apache-airflow-providers-<PROVIDER>-*.tar.gz* are the convenience python
"sdist" distributions that we publish in PyPI

*apache_airflow_providers_<PROVIDER>-*.whl are the convenience Python
"wheel" distributions that we publish in PyPI.

The test procedure for PMC members is described in
https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/main/dev/README_RELEASE_PROVIDERS.md#verify-the-release-candidate-by-pmc-members

The test procedure for and Contributors who would like to test this RC is
described in:
https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/main/dev/README_RELEASE_PROVIDERS.md#verify-the-release-candidate-by-contributors

Public keys are available at:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/airflow/KEYS

Please vote accordingly:

[ ] +1 approve
[ ] +0 no opinion
[ ] -1 disapprove with the reason

Only votes from PMC members are binding, but members of the community are
encouraged to test the release and vote with "(non-binding)".

Please note that the version number excludes the 'rcX' string.
This will allow us to rename the artifact without modifying
the artifact checksums when we actually release it.

The status of testing the providers by the community is kept here:
https://github.com/apache/airflow/issues/59259

The issue is also the easiest way to see important PRs included in the RC
candidates.
Detailed changelog for the providers will be published in the documentation
after the
RC candidates are released.

Re: [VOTE] Airflow Providers, release preparation date 2025-12-09

Posted by Jarek Potiuk <ja...@potiuk.com>.
FYI In case others will notice (thanks to our revived staged docs) - I
also noticed a small "doc-only" issue -> in Fab and Jira providers the
index documentation contains wrong versions (this was because of a bug when
refreshing and rebasing PRs) - I fixed it (including root cause) in
https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/59261, but I will fix it simply by
applying the commit from the PR while generating the "prod" documentation
(this is really cool feature we have in our doc publishing workflow that
allows us to fix such issue by dynamically patching released docs with
later commits when building it).

Re: [VOTE] Airflow Providers, release preparation date 2025-12-09

Posted by Jens Scheffler <js...@apache.org>.
Hi Jarek,

thanks for preparing!

+1 (binding) - Checked SVN, Check in Docker, Reproducible package build,
Licenses, Signatures

Tested - as usual - the health of EdeExecutor via breeze with Airflow
2.11.0, 3.0.6, 3.1.4 and main. As planned of course EdgeExecutor is not
working in 2.11.0 and can not be installed anymore. Works fine with
3.0.6, 3.1.4 and main.

Thanks for adding OAuth support for API calls in FAB last minute! Just
discovered the gap at the same time at work when the PR was just merged.
Tests not completed yet if all of this is working, hope to response with
@wolfdn tomorrow.

Jens

Re: [VOTE] Airflow Providers, release preparation date 2025-12-09

Posted by Jarek Potiuk <ja...@potiuk.com>.
Daniel from the ASF Infra fixed the problem with asf staged documentation -
all the links and past rc candidate documentation should now work as usual
- you can easily look at the changelog and documentation generated by
simply following links from PyPI or going to
https://airflow.staged.apache.org/ !
