Releasing IvyDE ?

Hi everyone !

6 month ago we released a beta version of IvyDE 2.0. Now we have a
good among of bug resolved thanks to the report and patch of our users
[1].
There are still 3 bugs opened:
* IVYDE-170 [2] : I think this bug exist, but quite hard to reproduce.
I don't think this should be a blocker though.
* IVYDE-178 [3] : I reproduced the bug, but as commented in there, the
fix will bring some major refactoring.
* IVYDE-180 [4] : I wasn't able to reproduce it

So I think it is a good time to release a 2.0 final.

WDYT ?

And needless to say but I volunteer as the manager of this possible
release.

Nicolas

+1. An official release will definitively help for adoption.

I think IvyDE is stable enough, and it will make people more confident in
using it with an official release. So it's a strong +1 for me.

Considering the amount of people involved around IvyDE (developpers,
patchers, early testers, etc...), I would prefer keep the version and
improvement going on. I don't want to waste time to redo a release just to
change the version number.
And if there are such bugs in the final release that it would be unusable
in a production enviromnent, a 2.0.1 would come out.

I also have some refactoring in the pipe that will help fix some bugs like
IVYDE-178. I can't wait fixing them ;)

+1 for a new release.

But maybe we should release a 2.0-rc1 instead of a 2.0-final ?

Actually there is no technical need to release one before the other.
As soon as Ivy is released, it will be available in the IvyDE
updatesite and then inside your Eclipse.

Looks great to me!

One question though, about ivy 2.1 rc1, which has been stable for a long time now, with only 3 issues set for 2.1.0, of which 2 have already been fixed. Would it be worthwhile to release ivy 2.1.0 first and distribute ivyde 2.0 with ivy 2.1, or not?
