Staging For Apache Hosted OpenOffice.org Website
Announcing http://ooo-site.apache.org/ as the place to work on the Apache hosted version of openoffice.org.
Thanks Joe Schaefer!
The content is in svn at /ooo/ooo-site/trunk
It is an Apache CMS editable version of http://www.openoffice.org/
Test version of downloads.openoffice.org is now found at http://ooo-site.apache.org/downloads/
Similarly support.openoffice.org is at http://ooo-site.apache.org/support/
For instructions see
(1) Large work is best local with:
http://incubator.apache.org/openofficeorg/website-local.html
Changing the skeleton or wrapping of pages causes large staging and production builds and local iteration is advised unless you want to boost your commit count.
(2) Ad hoc work can be done by adapting
http://incubator.apache.org/openofficeorg/docs/edit-cms.html
Instead of editing markdown text (mdtext) files. You will be editing html files.
(3) Added pages can be mdtext.
(4) Some project wrap better than others...
Best Regards,
Dave

http://ooo-site.apache.org/why/ is now wrapped and available. It's not perfect, but can now be viewed and edited by others.

Dave

You're welcome! I've been semi-patiently waiting for Apache Infrastructure since mid-September.

Why is in progress. ooo-marketing can discuss any updates.
The final form of URLs to migrated OOo projects may redirect or rewrite foo.openoffice.org/bar to www.openoffice.org/foo/bar

Hi Alexandro -
You will now find http://ooo-site.apache.org/es/.
I like the main page!
Changes made to the perl build are described in line below.
The donations page[1] does mention the Apache Software Foundation and that oooES is not associated. This is as it should be.
I am flagging this because the PPMC and trademarks@a.o should review the message. (Maybe trademarks has?)

Cool.
Wrapping is improved. Here were the changes relevant to that:

I thought that Kay had done the language projects. So, I've started the process. It looks like adjustments are needed to the wrappings for "es".
Once I get the wrapping working I will checkin "es" and you can start to have fun.
Will you be trying the local site build, or the page by page Apache CMS bookmarklet?

No, this is Apache CMS and skeleton.html is almost the same as the podling's site.
The skeleton.html is here: https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/ooo/ooo-site/trunk/templates/skeleton.html
Changing the skeleton is a heavy operation as every page gets updated on commit. This is why I recommend local work for that part.
> Most of the Oracle logo where done from the Kenai template.
ooo-site.apache.org is the staging site on Apache infrastructure for us to make changes to openoffice.org before we switch www.openoffice.org to point to ooo-site.apache.org.
When we are satisfied that ooo-site is good and has proper headers., footers and logos we can make the transition.
Think of ooo-site.a.o being like ooo-forums.a.o and ooo-wiki.a.o.
ooo-site is done using the Apache CMS, it is editable just like the podling's site.
It is time for the us to modify the whole contributing.openoffice.org to AOOo policy.
See - http://ooo-site.apache.org/contributing/
This is in svn at https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/ooo/ooo-site/trunk/content/contributing/.
You can also use the CMS Bookmarklet to edit.

That is a question that I have asked trademarks@a.o.
Note that subversion was not required to have Apache in their logo on http://subversion.apache.org/.

Are you saying that the production site at openoffice.org is now fed
