[jira] [Commented] (ARROW-18375) MIGRATION: Enable GitHub issue type labels

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-18375?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17641750#comment-17641750 ]

Joris Van den Bossche commented on ARROW-18375:

bq. I use "Type: enhancement" for user-visible enhancements (such as new features, performance improvements...) and "Type: task" for things that don't affect them directly (such as an internal refactor).

Yes, that's what I meant as well, but with a much clearer phrasing ;)

> As part of enabling GitHub issue reporting, the following labels have been defined and need to be added to the repository label options. Without these labels added, [new issues|https://github.com/apache/arrow/issues/14692] do not get the issue template-defined issue type labels set properly.
