Hiya. Just a quick note - if you're just getting into CVS, you might want to
look at jCVS (www.jcvs.org) which is a Java UI - makes life a little easier.
If you're an Emacs user there's also VC - a facility for CVS. Hope that
helps.

The xml.apache.org pages contain instructions on accessing the cvs
repository.

CVS = Concurent Versioning System, a version tracking system for
developers. It's freeware, and comeplete details can be found at
