java 17 support

Hi,

I looked through various tickets and messages, but just to be sure and
out of interest:

Is HBase working working with Java 17 (experimental or not) and is there
some timeline for Java 17 and HBase?

HBase can compiling with java8 and running with java 17.

AFAIK, there is no such timeline yet.

If you have interest in compiling & running HBase with java 17, feel
free to report issues about the problem and we are happy to fix it and
make HBase work with java 17.
