xalan command line -usage of options

Hi,
i am using xalan-j commandline for xml to xml conversion.

if i give java org.apache.xslt.Process -in fine1.xml -xsl file2.xsl -out file3.xml
but in the result xml file (file3.xml) im getting the entity values are replaced.bcos in xsl im using text() function to get the attribute value.is there anything i have to done like to get the value as &refname .regname is declared in doctype entity in file1.xml and i want to get the &refname instread of getting exact value.
but in the result file file3.xml im not getting the doctype entity?how to specify at xsl to get the same doc type from in;yt xml file? 

what is the use of "-E" option? in command line xalan?
