[jira] Created: (WODEN-219) Code should use Java generics

Code should use Java generics
-----------------------------

                 Key: WODEN-219
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WODEN-219
             Project: Woden
          Issue Type: Improvement
    Affects Versions: M8
            Reporter: Eric Johnson
            Priority: Minor

Opening source in Eclipse, with Java 1.5 or later as compiler, lots of warnings related to lack of generics use. Given that Woden hasn't had its first official release, and JDK 1.5 has been available for so long now, Woden should migrate.

I think a roadmap should be established as 1.4.2 as reached EOL (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html)

Sagara Gunathunga commented on WODEN-219:
------------------------------------------

AFAIK Java 1.42 is a pre-requirement for Woden , Woden should compile with Java 1.42 , this is the main reason that Woden does not use Java 5 specific features. Still number of people use Jdk1.4 for their projects ,at the moment Woden should support this community too .
