[users@httpd] Soarlis 8, apache 1.3.33, hanging server processes
Hallo,
we observe that from time to time a stop of the server processes is
unsuccessful (via apachectl stop). ps shows, that one process is
hanging and a 'kill -9' doesn't help at all. At least we need to reboot
the system to free the port 80 again.
Does anybody noticed the same problem and found the reasons which may
cause this kind of problems?
Any hint is welcome.

i found a couple reasons...
when you have a nfs mounted on a virtualhost documentroot, and nfs link
is down, apache will hang forever until the nfs is connected again.
