SASL error

Hi all,
Please help in resolving this error which has been observed in log file as
soon as I *start hbase*
*socket connection to server localhost/127.0.0.1:2181
<http://127.0.0.1:2181>. Will not attempt to authenticate using SASL
(unknown error)*

here is my *etc/hosts entry*
192.168.1.42    database     database.companyname.com
127.0.0.1       localhost    localhost.localdomain.com

here are some missing details
HBase Version 0.96.1.1-hadoop2,
HadoopVersion 2.2.0
