The initial motivation of upgrading to JLine3 is to make the IoTDB cli quits with ctrl-D instead of ctrl-C.

 

In addition, JLine3 provides some cool features like auto-completion, syntax highlighting, multi-line edition and so on. Thus, upgrading to JLine3 can be a great improvement to the user experience.
