Site Uploading with HTTP?

I want to upload my maven generated project sites using HTTP. Now the
destination is actually my localhost, but I don't want to use file://
because I would have to maintain this physical location for file
system changes. I am running Apache HTTPD locally and would like to
take advantage of POST/PUT if possible.

Is this possible?
