[Bug 4245] New: Multiple Errors During Spam Processing
http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4245
Summary: Multiple Errors During Spam Processing
Product: Spamassassin
Version: 2.61
Platform: Sun
OS/Version: Solaris
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: spamc/spamd
AssignedTo: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
ReportedBy: denhart@isgs.uiuc.edu
CC: denhart@isgs.uiuc.edu
While spamd is processing e-mail I get a storm, 40 or 50, of these error messages
Argument "" isn't numeric in numeric lt (<) at
5.8.0/Mail/SpamAssassin/BayesStore.pm line 1248.
The code at line 1248 is:
1248: if (!defined ($oldmagic) || $atime < $oldmagic) {
1249: $self->{db_toks}->{$OLDEST_TOKEN_AGE_MAGIC_TOKEN} = $atime;
1250 }
I don't have a clue what this means and I can't find anything in the bugs or
FAQs. Please help as this is a significant drain on my server. Thanks!

I'm closing this as works-for-me. Since this bug was filed against such
an old version, if it continues to happen with _3.0_ or later, please file
a new bug instead of reopening this one. Thanks!

Version 2.61 is almost two years old. The module you name doesn't even have 1k
lines in it in the current version. I suspect this problem has already been
fixed. That code line even in version 2.64 is different from what you have in
2.61. Any chance you can test this problem of yours on a 2.64 install, and see
if the problem continues? I'd suggest:
1) download and make version 2.64 (do not make install unless/until you're ready
to go live with the new version)
2) copy your Bayes database files (all of them) to a user's $HOME/.spamassassin
directory.
3) take a new (not yet learned) message and as that user (so you use that user's
.spamassassin Bayes database), use the version 2.64 spamassassin module, using
the command "spamassassin <testmessage >output"
See if you still have those errors.
Assuming you do not (since I strongly suspect it has been fixed), then schedule
an upgrade to version 2.64 (or better: to the current 3.x.x version).

Cool! Thank-you. I'll do this test in the next couple of days and then,
probably, upgrade.
