OK, I found that switchin to DBCP pool manager fixes everything
here EXCEPT the database cleanup.  
Engine is locking up when database is full.
I deleted all data in the tables that seemed to grow.
However, the ENGINE stayed locked up.
Is there a way to prod it back to life!
