Causing empty result set to fail

Hi
I have a SQL query in an XSP (using the esql logicsheet) that returns a 
record. If the query returns no record, it currently returns an empty 
node set. I don't want it to do that. Instead I want it to fail so 
execution stops there.

What is the best (most efficient) way of doing this.
