Confirmed that shiro config using web.xml works fine with 1.2.0-SNAPSHOT but not with release 1.1.0.
Is there a scheduled date for the next stable release?

Hrm - this is quite odd and it should work without issue.
Would you mind trying 1.2.0-SNAPSHOT and seeing if you have a problem?
All the tests that I'm running currently work fine based on the trunk codebase.

Hello, I also faced the same problem. Shiro 1.1 does not recognize a
shiro.ini in the WEB-INF folder.
However you can put your .ini file to src/main/resources and it will be
recognized.

I had a poke around JIRA looking for dates on the roadmap for the 1.2 release, but couldn't see anything obvious - can you provide any update on when we might see a 1.2 release?
