[jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-7273) Move JMXGet from hdfs to common

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-7273?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13461156#comment-13461156 ]

Harsh J commented on HADOOP-7273:
---------------------------------

I too think it is good if we can share jmxget between HDFS and YARN.

Otis - There seem to be several tools for JMX CLI access out there already, one such being http://jmxclient.sourceforge.net. I couldn't find anything highly maintained (no idea if it even needs such maintenance), nor could I find something in Maven Central that we can use directly and avoid our own version of things to maintain. Any thoughts? I'd like it if we have lesser things to maintain certainly :)

> JMXGet is generally useful especially for testing JMX attributes. Let's move it from o.a.h.hdfs.tools to o.a.h.tools.
