Bayes

I've been running SpamAssassin 2.63 on my personal Alpha box and am in the
process of implementing SA 2.63 on our Alpha mail server. SA's working
fine on the mail server but it's missing a lot because my Bayes database
there is minimal. Would there be any harm in copying my Bayes database
from my personal box to the mail server? That database is well-used and
should help to block lots of spam. Thanks in advance.

I haven't done it, but looking at the long-term benefits,

a) it's a quick and easy way to get Bayes running, with confirmed
ham/spam information. Granted it's YOUR spam and ham, and may not reflect
properly the full range of emails for the company, but it's a good start.

b) Assuming you feed Bayes regularly from system-wide emails, your
personal tokens will slowly be replaced by system-wide tokens, since
Bayes ages its database.

I'd say do it.

you will get allot here that will say you shouldn't but I my self do keep a
loaded bayes and I make it into rpm's for my clients that I build servers
for.
