> When building packages on/for Ubuntu and Debian, the 'lintian' tool is run as the last step to check package quality. This utility will produce warning or error messages according to its rules for packaging standards. The results are saved into the package. Although packages produced with lintian errors will successfully install, at least on Ubuntu the Software Center will throw up an ugly dialog declaring the package is of bad quality.
