what means "struts"

Hello,

what does "struts" mean?
is it an acronym? a shortcut?

In this case, "Struts" is not an acronym or a shortcut.  In English, a
"strut" is one of the support pieces that you use to give stability to
the framework of a building, or the wing of a plane, or the span of a
bridge.  The idea behind the name is that Struts provides a set of basic
building blocks for you to use in assembling your web application.
There are pieces to satisfy various needs (i.e. hold up different kinds
of walls), and you can use all of them or just some of them.
