We have now been running the modified patch as described in Comment 10 for
about 4 days and have had no core dumps on the patched server at all compared
to over 50 cores between the three unpatched server over the same time period.

I'll be rolling out the patched httpd v2.2.22 to the other three servers
tomorrow.
