Open Office Full Version

Upon install the program does not set a desktop icon, does not set a taskbar icon and does not include a link in the Start menu.

Other than the download and clicking RUN there is absolutely no indication the program is installing. There is a graph indicator from going left to right but that disappears momentarily.

Please advise.

does your account possess administrative privileges? the said indicator is probably due to unpacking the installation files to a temporary directory and trying to install c++ redistributable components rather than due to the main install process itself.
