[jira] [Created] (CLOUDSTACK-7914) Ability to control the
promiscuous mode settings for the ESXi vSwitch port group for an isolated
network
David Williams created CLOUDSTACK-7914:
------------------------------------------
Summary: Ability to control the promiscuous mode settings for the ESXi vSwitch port group for an isolated network
Key: CLOUDSTACK-7914
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-7914
Project: CloudStack
Issue Type: Improvement
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
Reporter: David Williams
Priority: Minor
It would be nice if users could configure the following settings for their self provisioned isolated networks via the ACS GUI/API:
1. Enable/disable promiscuous mode on the vSwitch port group for the isolated network
2. Enable/disable "MAC Address changes" on the vSwitch port group for the isolated network
3. Enable/disable "Forged transmits" on the vSwitch port group for the isolated network
This would allow carp to work. e.g. see this pfsense page: https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/CARP_Configuration_Troubleshooting#ESX_VDS_Promisc_Workaround
