[jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-17432) Update cqlsh version in 4.1

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-17432?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17506379#comment-17506379 ]

Jeff Widman commented on CASSANDRA-17432:
-----------------------------------------

Traditionally I'd say this should be a major version bump given that python 2 was removed--ie very much a breaking change (regardless of the previous py2 deprecation).

But I'm torn as putting it at 6.1.0 keeps it in lock-step with the Cassandra 4.1.x release series... 6 one way, half a dozen the other...

As long as the version gets bumped in some way I'm happy. :-)

> The cqlsh in version 4.1 has had several important internal changes to credentials management and removing compatibility with Python2.  Therefore the version should be incremented; e.g from 6.0.0 to 6.1.0 or similar.
