Hidden component

I'm trying to use the Hidden component instead of using a persistent
property. I can see that the object gets written to the html source, but
when I reference the object in the LinkSubmit's listener, the object is
null. Even when I try a simple String. I can see that the page property has
the proper value when the page first renders, but I can not see why the
value is ending up null in the listener.

Any thoughts?

thanks,
Jamie

Re: Hidden component

The listener is Java, Groovy, Jython or what?

We had this issue with Groovy listeners not resolving correctly
expressiones like:

page.beans.someBean

that had to be replaced with

page.getBean("someBean")

for Groovy to resolve correctly the bean reference, otherwise it created
a brand new (and null) someBean "property" for "beans".

Hope this help...

I haven't tried this yet, but I am sure that's the problem. The link submits
are before the hidden fields. Glad I asked. I wouldn't have thought of that
in a million.

Thanks,
Jamie

Where are the Hidden and LinkSubmit components, relative to each other, within the Form? If the
LinkSubmit precedes the Hidden, then the Hidden will not have had a chance to restore the property
before the LinkSubmit's listener is invoked.
