how to make tomcat to communicate with external webserver ?

hi there,

i am using iplanet webserver in my project along with jrun2.3.3 for jsp , servlet support

now i need to use tomcat for the same . how to set the tomcat engine to talk to my existing
webserver ?
pls suggest .
