Hi,
I have the same problem using Unix and fat32 filesystem.

I understand that an ignore option is not optimal, however it would enable the 
usage of symlinks on filesystems that don't support it.
Apparently it would be preferable if the svn client detects that a link is 
represented as a textfile and the ignore option can be omitted in future 
calls.
