Traces

Hello,

Several of you have noticed that we now have a lot of traces, and I 
have to admit I am responsible for a large number of them. I propose 
we all clean up our respective code (i.e., comment out traces) and that 
we make sure we remove traces before we commit code.

If nobody objects, I would like to keep only the ones that trace the
loading time and the painting time.
