A solution is simply to add a version like this to hedwig-server/pom.xml:

        <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId>
        <artifactId>findbugs-maven-plugin</artifactId>
        <version>2.5</version>
        <configuration>
          <excludeFilterFile>${basedir}/src/main/resources/findbugsExclude.xml</excludeFilterFile>
        </configuration>
      </plugin>

But, given that we have it in the top-level pom.xml, I'm not sure why we have it again in the pom file of hedwig-server. Should we simply delete the plugin description in hedwig-server/pom.xml? Should we bump the plugin version to 2.5 (it is current 2.1 in the top-level pom)?
