During debuild, 'dh_strip_nondeterminism' can hang for about 6 hours?
Hi, all
Did anybody noticed this? When I do ./gradlew deb inside of docker
container, as part of 'debuild', 'dh_strip_nondeterminism' can take as long
as 6 hours to finish.
Here is an example, the timestamp is my local system time, inside a docker
bigtop/slave container, run './gradlew phoenix-deb',
'dh_strip_nondeterminism' started at 08:36 in the morning, however, it
hangs there until 14:00 of the afternoon. Here is log:
08:36:13 dh_strip_nondeterminism
14:00:47 Using 1568161110 as canonical time
14:00:47 Normalizing
debian/phoenix/usr/lib/phoenix/phoenix-4.13.1-HBase-1.3-queryserver.jar
14:00:47 Normalizing
debian/phoenix/usr/lib/phoenix/phoenix-core-4.13.1-HBase-1.3.jar
14:00:47 Normalizing
debian/phoenix/usr/lib/phoenix/phoenix-core-4.13.1-HBase-1.3-tests.jar
I am building on an Arm machine. Does anybody know whether there is the
same problem in x86 servers?

Let me tell you I had similar issues when I worked on hadoop3 on amd64.
As a workaround i disabled this step.

There is no timestamp in logs in CI. So I cannot tell how much time cost
between each line of log output.
I tried to run bigtop build on an x86 server machine, and so far I see no
issues. I will further investigate.

Hi Guodong,
It looks strange... I've never seen this before on x86.
Did you look into our CI?
