ojb-blank libs

The link to "additional required libraries" points to severall libraries
that are needed but they are already included on the source
distribution.

The ones that are missing, in order to execute the ojb-blank target are:

  - jdo.jar
  - jdori.jar
  - j2ee.jar

That will certainly be a nice to have.

I am finishing a OJB/Torque application setup (to be used over and over
again through ant) so that I dont need to install ojb/torque on all
projects to generate my db or model. The idea is to have the database
settings on the severall property files on different projects so that I
can reuse the ant targets on that application.
It also helps when using on a specific db (because of licences, for
example) and deploying on another... or using the same db but with
different parameters (URLs, users, etc). It also makes it easy to handle
the db configurations issues if a "db dictionary" is implemented.

Thank you,

We might do that (though there might be an Apache policy regarding
non-Apache compatible licenses that would prevent us from doing so), but
these libraries are only required for building OJB from source so its
probably easier to modify the build file to allow building OJB form
source without the components that require these libraries. And if
somebody wants to use these components, then she should/has to get this
other stuff (J2EE and/or JDO RI) anyway.

Look at how the FreeTTS project handles the "Legal/License" issues of the
dist or jars.

they wrap the jars in an original license agreement, then the
user/developer can accept or decline the agreements.

Right, this page specifies libraries that are only required by certain
parts of OJB and thus might not be need by everyone.

Due to license issues, we're not allowed to bundle them with OJB, but
rather the user has to download them manually. Currently you need to add
the j2ee libraries (from Java J2EE SDK from http://java.sun.com) and jdo
libraries (also from http://java.sun.com, search for JDO RI) to the lib
subfolder in order to build OJB from source which is a prerequisite for
building the ojb-blank target.
Btw, We will make a pre-compiled ojb-blank.jar available with the 1.0
(which does not need j2ee or jdo libraries).
