+ We have had a few more people more actively engaged in the process. In particular 
+ Gunnar Tapper from Trafodian is helping us get a release out. 
+ Omkar Prabhu and Rutvij Clerk have made commitments to help with performers and 
+ the release process. Barbara Gomes and Tony Faustini will be giving a 
+ presentation on how to develop iota performers 
+ (components for iota) at ApacheCon. This should get more people engaged
+ in development and use of iota.

+ We have started the process of a release. We have some cleanup to do in 
+ the code base (e.g. IOTA-40). We also need to get Rutvij Clerk's GPG key signed by an 
+ Apache committer who is in the "Apache circle of trust". We tried to get this done 
+ locally but not been successful. Perhaps we become a part of the Apache circle of trust at the 
+ upcoming ApacheCon in Miami where Barbara Gomes will be present. We are 
+ targeting a basic release by ApacheCon. We will proceed with this basic release without a
+ trusted GPG key as it may not be necessary at this initial stage.
