[jira] [Commented] (BROOKLYN-63) Allow Brooklyn to run as non-root user on port 80

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BROOKLYN-63?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14122783#comment-14122783 ]

Richard Downer commented on BROOKLYN-63:
----------------------------------------

Some options: http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/chrismay/entry/making_java_bind/
Sadly all options have compromises of one kind or another. I do like the commons-daemon {{jsvc}} option - the platform specificness can be ameliorated, as it looks like CentOS, Ubuntu and MacPorts all have commons-daemon in their default package manager repositories.
