Interested in helping with testing.

My name is Tenille Brathwaite, and my major is in software engineering. One of my assignments this semester is to assist with an open source testing project and I was wondering if there are still opportunities available to get involved in testing the Apache OpenOffice software, and what areas I could provide assistance in.

Hi Tenille,

Your note got caught in the moderation queue since you were not
subscribed to the list. I let your note through. But unless you
subscribe to the list you will not get responses unless someone
remembers to explicitly forward you a note. So, if you want to
subscribe to the list, send an email to
ooo-dev-subscribe@incubator.apache.org. It gets a lot of traffic --
50+ messages a day sometimes -- so you may want to define rules in
your mail client to collect list traffic into its own folder.

Do you have any more specific requirements for helping with testing?
Are you being asked to use any specific methodology or technique? Or
just to get involved in an open source testing effort?

Are you familiar with OpenOffice already as a user?

What OS platforms do you have access to for testing?

A good start would be to sign up with our Bugzilla bug database here:

Tenille,

Welcome help on testing! Currently we are focusing on AOO 3.4 general
testing, IP clearance testing have been done last week.

If it is ok, I'd like you take the Math component to do general usage
testing, also some interoperability testing with previous OOo version and
MS Office.

You may visit below link to give AOO 3.4 QA overview.
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/QA

Also here to get the QA progress:

Please download the latest dev snapshot build to do testing:

Don't hesitate to let me know if any comments.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Lily
