How to make window icon background transparent?
Can anyone with a decent image editing tool help? The background is
currently an opaque white, but I think it should be transparent. I
couldn't seem to get paint to do that for me. I know, there are free
tools around, but I do this so rarely I haven't bothered.

.png is what we use, so that is fine.
Thanks.

The images we have are currently in png format, so that shouldn't be a
problem. I guess I should give gimp a try.

Hi Adam,
I can look into that. In general, there is a free editor, which is
capable of most of the things commercial software can do (well, it is
not that convenient).

The only problem with transparent images is that only png and gif
support that. gif has license issues, so most non commercial tools
support only png, which is fine, if you can use them in your software.
I think "paint" doesn't support transparency at all, but I am not sure
about that.
