[Bug 66130] New: Build relies on the non-standard 'which' utility
https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=66130
Bug ID: 66130
Summary: Build relies on the non-standard 'which' utility
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.4.53
Hardware: PC
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Build
Assignee: bugs@httpd.apache.org
Reporter: sam@gentoo.org
Target Milestone: ---
Created attachment 38321
--> https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=38321&action=edit
apache-tools-2.4.54-no-which.patch
'which' is a non-standard utility (an external command) which isn't required by
POSIX. The same can be achieved using 'command -v' which is standard.
I've attached a patch to drop the usage of which. Both Debian and Gentoo are
currently working to remove which from the base system set of packages.
