Started getting this exception after JDK 1.4 upgrade?

Or maybe it's being caused by something else, but I just started getting
errors like this:

org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Relative URI "xhtml-lat1.ent"; can not be
resolved without a base URI. 

I am using xalan-j_2_1_0 and the xerces bundled with it.
