Currently, python Avro does not seem to support a DECIMAL type. 
I [added|https://github.com/premsantosh/avro/commit/162bbb73bdb09c197722f33a0b4dcaf9f7c6f9b8] support for encoding and decoding logical decimal type for python avro.
