> It's not possible to deploy any spring-dm based file (e.g. camel route) into the {{deploy}} directory. It's caused by missing {{org.apache.karaf.deployer.spring}} bundle. Karaf 2.3.x and 3.0.x start the bundle in {{startup.properties}}, Karaf 4.0.x starts it together with {{spring}} feature. 
> In Karaf 2.4.x it's defined as conditional bundle in the {{deployer}} feature. But when the {{deployer}} feature is installed the {{spring}} feature is usually not installed.
