[jira] [Resolved] (CB-1176) Media.play() freezes app until file has loaded

     [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-1176?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]

Shazron Abdullah resolved CB-1176.
----------------------------------

       Resolution: Won't Fix
    Fix Version/s:     (was: 2.5.0)

The workaround here is to download the file first using the FileTransfer API (which has progress callbacks) and then load it using the Media API.

I don't think it's worth it trying to change the API code currently especially if its going to be re-worked.

> When calling myMedia.play() with an external Media file, the app fully freezes until the file can be played back.
> Steps to reproduce:
> var media = new Media(url, success, error);
> media.play(); // Browser freezes.
> It would be great if this could be changed so the browser does not freeze. It would make it easier for the developer to display a loading indicator or similar to the user for visual feedback.
